History on TMC Inc.
Family owned and operated since 1956, TMC has strived to produce the highest quality pontoon at the lowest factory direct prices possible. It's no secret to anyone who has visited TMC Incorporated that they do in fact meet all of their goals with an added friendly atmosphere leaving purchasers with a secure feeling.
What does TMC stand for? Years ago the company had the name Tri Machine Company, TMC being the initials of course. Now the name is simply TMC Inc. It all began over 50 years ago when a man named Fran Stauner saw opportunity in the water. Would anyone buy a platform with a motor attached to the back? People did, and Fran began selling these pontoon boats right from his blacksmith shop. They began not as a package; the pontoons, deck and motor were all sold separately, but things have changed since then. Now TMC, which is owned by Fran's son Mike, lands boats to happy customers all over world. TMC has a high commitment to quality even in the areas no one sees, and this mentality is what turned a blacksmith shop into a company that currently employs 25 people full time. Some of which have been with the company for nearly 50 years.
A few years ago Hollywood came to the Northwest and Grumpier Old Men was filmed in the area. A company named Sea Studio asked a local Minnesotan where they could find the best pontoon boat, and TMC is the name they received. Two boats were built for this movie, one to film from (with three pontoons), and another to ferry around Jack Lemon and Walter Mathau. Presently the pontoon made to film from is in California filming other movies.
TMC also built an 88-foot pontoon boat for the purpose of diner and ferry cruise. TMC has made a name for themselves in the boating industry. Pontoon sales span north to Alaska, south to Colombia South America, East to the Europe and west to Oregon. Factory direct pricing with custom quality design make the pontoon boat of your dreams.
TMC went from selling 12 boats the first year in existence to selling over 400 today, and has built them any length in between 12 feet and 88 feet. If you need your boat customized, or want to pick from the numerous sizes and models contact them and they will be pleased to help.
